Anxiety Therapy: Finding Calm & Clarity

Do you ever feel like there’s a dark cloud hanging over you, or that worry takes over your thoughts and daily life? Anxiety can disrupt sleep, affect eating habits, and even manifest as physical pain, tension, or panic attacks.

At DaTerra Psychotherapy & Wellness, our therapists create a safe, judgment-free space where you can process what’s happening in your life, gain clarity about your thoughts and emotions, and reconnect with a sense of inner calm and emotional balance.

Our approach to anxiety therapy is primarily humanistic, with clinicians who help you explore how intrusive thoughts, internal conflicts, and environmental stressors affect your mental and emotional well-being. When appropriate, we also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), providing practical tools to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with healthier, more supportive beliefs.

If mindfulness, meditation, or breathing exercises resonate with you, we can integrate these techniques to help ground your nervous system, calm the mind, and reduce anxiety symptoms. Over time, therapy can help you build confidence, improve emotional regulation, and develop a stronger sense of self, even when life feels overwhelming.

How Anxiety Therapy Works

Your first intake session is approximately 80 minutes and includes a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, where we explore your personal history, current stressors, symptoms of anxiety, and therapy goals.

Ongoing therapy sessions are 50–55 minutes, typically scheduled weekly. Depending on your needs, relief from anxiety symptoms may come within a few sessions, while some clients choose to continue therapy longer to explore deeper emotional patterns and create lasting change.

We approach treatment from a strength-based perspective, helping you recognize your existing inner resources and resilience while gently addressing areas of vulnerability.

You are always free to end therapy when it feels right for you. A termination session is encouraged, though never required, to help integrate the progress you have made.
